WHY THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR!
today's liturgy calls to keep alive our hope of salvation as a shoot shall grow. In the first reading, the heirs of King David is likened to a tree trunk cut and dried, the shape of their unfaithfulness. But here's the idea, now dead trunk a sprout, an unexpected start in life.
