MARIA the highest fruit
OF REDEMPTION
NEW YEAR! A day like others, some people think. But for us Christians this day is equivalent to the symbol begins a new year to live in the light of faith. The solemnity today invites us to celebrate the glorious motherhood of Mary, model of the true believer. The priestly blessing that we find in the book of Numbers (I Reading) suggests that we put under the protection of God through our actions at the beginning of a new round of social life. Everything is grace! The days, months, years are a sign of "face" of God
Writing to the Galatians (Reading II), St. Paul reveals to us the design of the Almighty God in the fullness of time he sent his Son born of a woman and becomes part of a people, a family of a race. The Gospel recounts the visit of the shepherds to the newborn Messiah-Saviour: they received the message of the angels, without delay go to the cave where they find Mary and Joseph and the Child. Maria, meanwhile, pray and meditate on the events and on the initiative of God to sinful humanity. Day of Peace, the civil New Year invites us to struggle for peace and reconciliation between peoples.
